Well, I transplanted seedlings tonight until my back hurt. I had great germination rates on cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage, as well as 4 different varieties of tomatoes, but I’m stymied by stevia. I’m not wild about the taste myself, but I agreed to try to start some for a friend who owns a local hardware store/home center, and let me tell you, it’s a disappointment. She told me that stevia is usually reproduced by propagation, but I had some seeds, so I said I’d give it a try. One stevia seedling out of 12 started. That’s… um… I’m not a math person, but that’s really disappointing compared to the success I usually have with herbs, vegetables, and flowers. I usually get around 85% to 90% germination because I use great potting mix, good technique, fabulous lighting, and my secret watering/feeding formula that I’ve perfected over years of trials. What’s that you say? Tell you what my secret formula is? What’ll you give me for it???
